Federal Perkins Loan

Per federal law, the authority for schools to make new Perkins loans ended in September 2017 allowing final disbursements to be made through June 30, 2018, in preparation for the Perkins loan wind down process.  Based on US Department of Education guidelines, Georgia Southern University liquidated our Perkins loan portfolio and assigned all Perkins loans account balances, meeting the criteria, to the US Department of Education’s servicer ECSI.

Based on documentation received from the US Department of Education, all loans submitted for assignment have been accepted. That acceptance indicates that the US Department of Education is now your loan holder.
